A Montenegrin woman arrested in Italy over series of thefts

Montenegrin citizen J.D. (31) was arrested on Wednesday morning in the famous Italian resort of Diano Marina in the Liguria region over a series of thefts committed in the territory of Rome, Venice, Milan and Turin. She has been sentenced to four years, seven months and 20 days in prison.

According to the Italian media, J.D. came on Wednesday with his family on holiday and stayed in a local hotel.

On this occasion, she submitted personal documents. After entering her personal data in the checking system, it turned out that Interpol Rome issued a warrant against her in 2015 to serve the prison sentence. Then the police was alarmed.

“On the basis of the final verdict, the defendant committed numerous thefts in the territory of Rome, Venice, Milan and Turin, for which she was sentenced to four years, seven months and 20 days in prison. The convict, who is pregnant, was first taken to a local hospital where she was examined and got treatment. Then she was taken to the prison in Genoa, where she will stay for a longer period because of the crimes committed,” the Italian media report.
