This photo posted on the Podgoricki Vremeplov Facebook page has once again proved pointlessness of Serbian media spinning and spreading unnecessary panic in the peak tourism season.
“Invasion of sharks attacking people in Montenegro – a 2.2m long shark caught” was a spectacular headline several Serbian media outlets released. However, there is no word about any kind of outbreak in the article. The text contains only a curiosity that a two metre long shark was caught near Budva. That specific fish species do not even eat humans.
As seen in the photo, the shark was about one meter long. And it is not a monster like some media outlets described. Experienced fishermen say that this shark is regularly hunted in the Adriatic sea.
