Montenegro Airlines abolishes several representative offices

National air carrier Montenegro Airlines (MA) has rendered decision to abolish representative offices in Moscow, Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt and London, as well as to reduce staff by 50% in the representative office in Belgrade.

MA representatives say that the decision was brought in accordance with the new trends in the air industry which is characterized by a high level of digitization and, thus, reduced need for physical presence of the representatives on the target markets.

MA Board of Directors has defined deadlines for the development of innovative commercial strategy of the company which is to define a clear market profile of the company in the forthcoming period.

“Activities on the short-term and long-term provision of planes are underway. The new Rule book on the internal organization and description of jobs will be developed in 30 days maximum”, MA representatives said.

The Board considered the activities of the executive management in relation to the implementation of the Plan of financial consolidation and bases for further MA development. The Board stated that some very important activities had been taken with the aim of strengthening market positioning of the company and financial and staff consolidation.

It was concluded that the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) was a considerable threat to successful operations.
