Being in NATO, Montenegro has joined the Alliance with the most prosperous countries over the past 70 years, the Government of Montenegro has tweeted.

Montenegro became a full member of the Alliance on 5 June 2017, while the official MNE-NATO relations started on 29 November 2006 by the invitation to the Partnership for Peace.
