Montenegro one of the safest tourist destinations

Interior minister Mevludin Nuhodzic said that the security situation in Montenegro was satisfactory. As he pointed out, the crime rate is lower compared to previous years.

“The number of cases of violation of public order and peace and the gravest crimes against life and the body has been reduced. Eight murders have been prevented, 71% of criminal offenses committed by an unknown perpetrators have been solved, as well as 215 criminal offenses related to narcotic drugs. The competent prosecutors prosecuted 224 persons. About four tonnes of skunk cannabis have been seized,” said Nuhodzic appearing in the RTCG’s morning program.

He is particularly pleased with the results achieved in the last six months.

“Despite the fact that there were cases of violation of public order and peace and security (which in certain cases caused justified reaction of citizens), good results have been achieved when it comes to public order and peace and when it comes to overall security. Then results are particularly good in the last six months,” the minister said.

He called to mind that Montenegro was one of the safest tourist destinations last year, stating that this was due to the dedicated and hard work of the Ministry of Interior and Police Directorate.
