Montenegro is suing the China Road and Bridge Corporation, CRBC, for devastating the Tara river, executive director of the Politikon Network, Jovana Marović, tweeted. Ms Marović noted that it was about an extremely important news and the public must be informed about it.
Meanwhile, Radio Free Europe reports that the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kolašin filed an indictment against CRBC on 2 March for performing construction work without necessary documents and causing damage to the environment.

CRBC is the main contractor of the Bar-Boljare highway and the Montenegrin non-governmental sector on several occasions warned that its actions were devastating the Tara river, including its UNESCO-protected area.
Just to be clear, the responsibility for the devastation of Tara river lies with the state itself, ie the previous government, which did not negotiate the conditions well, but the new developments are very interesting.

Recall, the Ministry of Capital Investment indicated yesterday that the investigation into the CRBC’s activities for the alleged devastation of the Tara river in 2019 happens independently of the realization of the Bar-Boljare highway project.
