More than €750 million invested in 552 projects

Around €751,05 million were invested last year in the realization of 552 development projects, programs and activities within the Regional development Strategy of Montenegro 2014-2020.

According to the document adopted by the Government in 127th session, presided by the PM, Mr Duško Marković, 94% of projected funds have been invested; €340,5 million for the Northern part of the country. The majority of the activities were realized with the funds from the state budget (39%).

Members of The Government have considered the Information on the revitalization of electricity distribution network, project worth more than €80 million. This year, 10 kw transmission lines used for the supply of almost 10.000 households are going to be revitalized.

After the works on middle-voltage network are finished, everybody should be provided high-quality and reliable electricity supply without prices going up.

Granted funds are aimed at setting up new enterprises, improvement of competitiveness and liquidity, improvement of production and source-oriented services, as well as production which reduces import dependence.

Spring analysis of macroeconomic movements and structural reforms summed up all the economic indicators. There’s also assessment made by Statistical Office of Montenegro according to which economic growth rate amounted 3% in the first quarter.

“Turnover in retail trade is higher. Value of completed construction works is by 12,4% higher. Industrial production has recorded a 14,4 fall due to the fall in electricity production”, said the Director-General of the Directorate for economic and Development Policy, Ms Iva Vuković.

She added that current account deficit in the first three months of this year had reached 4,6%. Central budget deficit amounted €71,4 million and is a consequence of fiscal consolidation.
