Most people leave Niksic and Bijelo Polje, negative natural increase in 18 municipalities – highest in Pljevlja

From the beginning of January to the end of October this year, as many as 1,064 people moved from Niksic, while 357 citizens moved to this town in that period, according to the latest data from the MONSAT Statistical Office.

A total of 448 citizens moved from Bijelo Polje in 10 months. It is followed by Bar, which was left by 373 residents, Cetinje (left by 334 residents), Berane (left by 302 residents), etc.

MONSTAT only keeps data on internal migration.

There is no official data on how many residents have moved out of Montenegro.

Since the beginning of 2022, Montenegro has recorded negative natural increase. In the first 9 months, 5,125 babies were born, of which 2,647 were boys and 2,478 were girls, according to the latest MONSTAT’s Monthly Analysis.

In the same period, 5,464 people died (2844 men and 2620 women). So, in the observed period, the number of deaths was 339 higher than the number of births in Montenegro.

In the 10 months of 2022, 2,493 marriages and 472 divorces were registered in Montenegro. In this year, there were no divorces in Andrijevica, Berane, Budva, Gusinje, Kolasin, Mojkovac, Petnjica, Plav, Pluzine, Savnik, Tivat and Tuzi.
