Settling the Kosovo issue is very important for the regional stability and Europe too, said the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović in Bratislava today.
The GLOBSEC Forum is dedicated to the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština. Presidents of Serbia, Mr Aleksandar Vučić and President of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, Director of Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey at the European External Action Service, Mrs Angelina Eichhorst are also attending the forum.
“I really hope that Mr Vučić and Mr Thaçi will continue the dialogue. That’s most important, that the participants come back to the table. This issue must be settled with a compromise, while respecting the interests of both sides”, said Mr Đukanović.
The President said that this wasn’t only regional problem.
“I think it is very important that Europe recognizes its great responsibility in this problem. This is security issue “par excellence” and Europe should address it”, said Mr Đukanović.
Mr Vučić said he was ready to start negotiations immediately.
“I’ve said that so many times”, said Mr Vučić.
Mr Thaçi hopes that the Summit in Paris will be a step forward towards the conclusion of the agreement.
