Android application “Klik Podgorica” will enable citizens and tourists to obtain information about traffic, cycling, hotel industry, sports facilities, healthcare institutions, culture and history of the Capital City, in the fastest and simplest possible way.
The Mayor, Slavoljub Stijepović, says that this app facilitates mobility and that this project is the result of the efforts of the Capital City put in digitization of city traffic as well as other activities.
„We are all well aware that we depend a lot on the possibilities that modern technology provides. By affirming such ideas and projects, we actually respond to the citizens’ needs, so that they can get the information they need in the faster and simpler way“, said Stijepović.
The information this App provides is important for the tourists who come to visit Montenegro.
„Projects like this one contribute tot he citizens’ comfort, since they influence the quality of the traffic and the overall mobility of our citizens“, explained Stijepović.
Director of the „Telenor“ company in Montenegro, Sandra Štajner, pointed out that more than 70% of the Montenegrin population uses smartphones.
„That means that people carry information in their pockets. It’s, therefore, essential that we have a platform that can be further developed in order to provide citizens and visitors with relevant and important information“, said Štajner.
Coordinator of this project, Džemal Lekić, said that all the information is available to all citizens in such a way that anyone can access and find out whatever they are interested in. Also, the App contains the relevant base of the facilities in the hotel industry.
„You can choose the facility you’re interested in by choosing categories. You can also search those facilities where pets are allowed, which have access for disabled persons, where you can pay by card etc.“, said Lekić.
Lekić explained that you can search sport facilities by sports you are keen on. Healthcare institutions are sorted out by categories they belong to.
