New elections for president of Medical Chamber

Ministry of Health has annulled presidency of Aleksandar Mugosa in Medical Chamber. The Ministry announced new elections. These were the first elections after 20 years, and long-time president Djoko Jocic was replaced. Minister Hrapovic said that elections were not compliant with the Statute.

Medical Chamber needs to hold an Assembly to discuss the actions that were taken in disregard of the Statute, pertaining to the choice of new president and vice president, said Minister Hrapovic yesterday, after meeting with representatives of Dentist, Medical and Pharmaceutical Chambers.

Commenting on findings of Ministry’s control in the Chamber, he said the expects them to fix legislative discrepancies as soon as possible.

“Medical Chamber should, within deadlines defined in Decision Ministry sent to the Chamber, call an Assembly to discuss how to fix the actions taken in disregard of the Statute”, Hrapovic said.

According to him, the Ministry has ordered that the Chamber vote on new Statute on the next Assembly session.

He underlined that the Ministry does not want to influence election of assembly or other working bodies in any chambers.
