Warnings of famous analysts, such as Nouriel Roubini, that the world is on the edge of the new economic crisis, should be taken seriously. Montenegrin economy, small and without any global influence must increase financial stability, production of food and energy…

It is clear that, even there happens to be global crisis, consequences are inevitable. Judging by the current situation, we are ready to respond to it.

Roubini, world-known analyst and economist, claims that the world is on the edge of  new recession, which might hit at the end of 2020.

On the other side, the World Bank and IMF, do not foresee the new crisis and key macroeconomic indicators do not support that thesis either.

Secretary General of the Association of Banks of Montenegro, Bratislav Pejaković, says that there are no reasons for panic.

“Even if that happens, Montenegro is ready to respond. The regulatory framework is improved, capacity of institutions as well. Financial sector has been improved as well and positive bank practices are being implemented. Bad loans have been reduced and so on”, says Pejaković.

Economic analyst and professor at the Faculty of Management, Vasilije Kostić, that announcements about the new crisis should be taken very seriously.

“The first reason is that the economic crisis is separated in cycles, and the other reason is that the recession is foreseen by Nouriel Roubini, who was the only one to predict crisis in 2008”, says Kostić.

It is obvious that the recession will happen, sooner or later.

“It is important to predict how low the economy will fall, how long it will last and what will be its amplitude”, says Kostić.
