No increase in the price of drugs despite higher VAT

Raising the VAT rate from 19% to 21% will not lead to an increase in prices of medicines, the Ministry of Health told CdM.

As it explained, VAT on drugs is calculated and paid at a reduced 7% rate. When it comes to the medicines from the so-called positive list, the costs for which are covered by the Health Insurance Fund, VAT is not calculated, ie it is 0%.
