Podgorica Airport to expand by 1,000 square meters

Director of the Airports of Montenegro Mr Danilo Orlandić announced today extension of Podgorica Airport capacities, as well the Terminal 2 extension at Tivat Airport.

“We’ll have a brand new airport in Podgorica expanding it by 1,000 square meters, and it’ll have six new service counters,” Mr Orlandić said.

He added that the topic of night flights at Tivat Airport has been extremely important, and two renowned companies have expressed interest in the implementation of the project – Aeroports de Paris and Airbus. “We shall make a decision in the next few days,” he said.

Tivat Airport night flights, according to the existing estimations, might start within a year or a year and a half. He emphasized that the newly-built Terminal 2 at Tivat Airport has already brought many benefits: “Its construction cost around $4 million and we will pay it off by the end of the next summer season.”

The company plans to expand Terminal 2 at Tivat Airport by about 300 square meters next year.
