Nuhodzic: Montenegro is a safe country and a safe tourist destination

Sa sastanka Nuhodžića i Kemp

Montenegro is a safe country and a safe tourist destination, interior minister Mevludin Nuhodzic said at a meeting with the newly appointed UK ambassador Alison Kemp.

“The competent institutions will continue to undertake all the activities in order to preserve and further improve this image, particularly in the light of the current tourist season. During this period the challenges are even stronger and more numerous, both in terms of citizens and tourists’ safety, as well as when it comes to responding to natural disasters,” Nuhodzic said.

The minister also thanked the ambassador for UK’s continuous support and assistance during Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro.

Ambassador Kemp praised Montenegro’s efforts on its path to NATO membership and expressed full support to our country in continuing its negotiations on EU membership and achieving and implementing international standards.

Pointing out the friendly relations of the two countries, the ambassador said that good cooperation would be continued on future projects in the field of fighting organised crime, as well as in training programmes for the ministry and Police Directorate’s officials in order to strengthen the state’s administrative capacities.
