Nurkovic emphasized the importance of connecting the Western Balkans with the EU countries

Considerable attention has recently been paid to transport development while creating internal and foreign policies in Montenegro, said the Minister of Transport Osman Nurkovic.

He participated in the 2nd Conference of Honorary Consuls in Montenegro, where he pointed to intensive international contacts and numerous meetings that have recently been organised, which represents the best confirmation of efforts to improve the integration of the Western Balkan countries among themselves and with the countries of the European Union.

“For this reason, I believe that special emphasis should be placed on directing investments on key corridors and better infrastructure connections with the countries of South-eastern Europe,” Nurkovic said.

The ministry stated that the state secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Marine Affairs, Angelina Zivkovic, presented the capital projects from this sector at the conference.

“She talked about the possibilities of investing in the remaining sections of the Bar-Boljare highway, rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure and valorisation of the potentials of the Airports of Montenegro and the Port of Bar,” the ministry added.
