Nurkovic: Government will find a solution for Montenegro Airlines

Government will find the most acceptable solution to keep Montenegro Airlines in business, said transport minister Osman Nurkovic appearing on the RTCG’s morning show.

“We are working on screening the situation and finding an adequate model for stabilising the situation in this very important company for Montenegro, its economy and employees of that company. The company was at the brink of bankruptcy, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of government and the company’s management, we managed to maintain that company. I think it is for the benefit of the citizens and the entire economy, particularly the tourist sector, because that company carries about 550,000 passengers annually. I am sure that about 70% of them are tourists,” Nurkovic said.

The minister referred to the construction of the highway and stated that there was no dilemma that the Smokovac loop was not an integral part of the first section and that it was not contracted.

“The agreement includes contractor’s obligation to design the project documentation, because the project document must define how to get off the existing road to the highway,” said Nurkovic.

He pointed out that the works on the entire section, on all bridges and tunnels, are being successfully carried out.

Nurkovic added that there was a good chance to conclude a contract on construction of the Matesevo-Andrijevica section while the works on this section are being performed.
