If opposition doesn’t want Jovicevic, DF will offer Popovic

DF

Democratic Front (DF) will offer Andrija Jovicevic to the rest of the opposition as the common opposition presidential candidate in the 2018 presidential elections. If he proves to be unacceptable for the other opposition parties, DF is considering talking to Milan Popovic, as he, being a non-partisan figure, meets all the required conditions, in DF’s opinion, Dnevne Novine learns.

Recently, Milan Popovic, a professor at the Faculty of Law in Podgorica, is frequently being mentioned as the possible common opposition candidate among DF leaders.

Jovićević and Popović

Dnevne Novine has not managed to find out whether the political alliance has already talked to him on his possible candidacy. It is certain that he might be acceptable to a part of the so-called civic opposition.

DF obviously decide to end the speculations about who the opposition candidate might be, after the rest of the opposition failed to offer someone who would be acceptable for the entire opposition.

However, those familiar with the situation within the opposition claim that it would be a kond opf “semi-solution” since it is certain that some parties will have their own presidential candidates. The Democrats leader Aleksa Becic has been mentioned as presidential candidate for a certain period.
