68 criminals captured under arrest warrant

Interpol National Central Bureau has issued 91 arrest warrants since the beginning of this year while Montenegro police forces have captured 68 criminals on behalf of other countries, Interpol NCB Podgorica chief officer Dejan Djurovic states for Pobjeda.

According to his claims and in comparison to other countries, Montenegro records the greatest number of checks of Interpol’s database on an annual level. “More than 13 million of checks are done annually which is an exceptional result compared to the number of citizens in our country. Montenegro is one of the most attractive countries when it comes to the number of run checks on vehicles”, Djurovic notes.
Djurovic also states that search for fugitives has been intensive but some of them are the world’s most wanted. He believes the Montenegrin police forces, i.e. the International Police Cooperation Department has been applying the so-called “targeted search” and all the most up-to-date Interpol standards in terms of merging and instant access to available databases.
