Over 900 negative posts and publications concerning President Đukanović

Three media which make up Vijesti – newspapers, portal and television – keep creating dominantly negative image of the Montenegrin president, Milo Đukanović.

This has been shown by the most recent research, carried out by the agency which has been monitoring Montenegrin media scene in the first three months of this year.

The most recent data have indicated that President Đukanović was featured in 433 publications and posts in the aforementioned media. Around 307 were in the negative context.

Last month, these three media published 14 publications and posts on a daily basis. If we take into consideration the monitoring results from January and February, we come to shocking data that newspapers, portal and television of Vijesti have published 1200 information, articles, and texts concerning Đukanović. More than 900 were in negative context.

Trend for great interest in Mr Đukanović has continued in March as well. However, there has been a slight fall in the number of negative information.

Authors of the research find two explanations. The first is that the number of positive information has derived from the greater number of Mr Đukanović’s activities and it was followed by a greater number of information coming from his cabinet. The fall in negative posts was provoked by the escaped tycoon Duško Knežević, who was less active last month.

Most negative posts (20) were published in March. According to the results of the monitoring, television Vijesti had less expressive critical approach regarding the President than portal or newspapers.

As far as the unplanned posts are concerned – articles and information that have nothing to do with the President and his activities- they are mostly negative again.

Around 40, out of 50 texts posted on the home page or front page created negative image of president Đukanović.

In March, there hasn’t been any positive post concerning the President on the front page.
