The European Union shouldn’t hope that countries like Serbia, Montenegro and Albania will ever become its members considering the situation they are currently in, said President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
“The EU is weakened due to Brexit and maybe it should postpone the plans for enlargement”, said Pahor yesterday at the forum in Bled.
As “Express” reports, the EU offered accession perspective for six countries of Western Balkans, which are supposed to meet rigid requirements in order to become new members.
Pre-accession negotiation with Serbia and Montenegro have already started, Year 2025 is being mentioned as the one when these countries could become full members of the EU.
