Pejaković: Banks won’t move jobs from MNE

In an interview with Dan, a daily, the secretary general of the Bank Association, UBCG, Bratislav Pejaković, told no bank registered in Montenegro was to abandon its market. Commenting on the last year’s views of the Central Bank of Montenegro, when three banks were qualified as vulnerable, he said that two out of three banks managed to step out of this zone, whereas the status of the one left depended on the existing judicial case.

Pejaković said: “The existing legislation, the process of aligning our regulations with the EU requirements and the twinning program with the central banks in Germany, the Netherlands and Croatia give us right to have positive and optimistic views on bank developments in Montenegro.”

The banks in Montenegro, he added, work in accordance with the national laws, international standards and good banking practice. He assessed the current state of affairs in the country’s banking sector as positive.
