People from Serbia buy real estate mostly at the seaside of Montenegro

More and more businessmen and famous people from Serbia are buying real estate in Montenegro.

The Real Estate Agency reports that 50% of clients are people from Serbia and they are interested in the prices ranging from 100.000 to several million EUR.

“In 95% of the case, people from Serbia buy apartments, houses and other buildings at the Montenegrin coastline. Podgorica doesn’t seem to attract them”, say the representatives of the Agency.

Real estate purchase is the legal basis for a foreigner to obtain ID. After five years, the foreign owner has right to claim Montenegrin citizenship. Physical person can buy an apartment or a house or business premises up to 5.000 square meters and then register themselves as owners. Legal entity can buy unlimited area of land and be registered as its owner.
