A video of police officers beating three young men in the centre of Podgorica has been shared on social media. Podgorica police have announced that they will take all measures to investigate the incident, and the Council for Civic Control of the Police called on the competent authorities to solve the case.
On this occasion, the director of the Police, Slavko Stojanovic, dismissed the chief of the Podgorica Intervention Police Unit Milan Radusinovic.
“According to the contents of this video taken on 17 February 2018, the police will take responsible actions and investigate all the circumstances of the events and undertake activities within their competence related to determining the possible responsibility of police officers. Public will be notified in a timely manner on conducted checks and actions taken related to the incident,” the Police Directorate said.
The Internal Control Department of the police will also undertake activities within its competence to check the content of this video.
