Polish tourist admits setting fire on Zanjice

Polish tourist W.O.K (18), who was suspected of setting the fire on the Zanjice beach, has been remanded in 72 hour custody, police Directorate stated. W.O.K. was arrested yesterday.

He has been suspected of using a cigarette to set grass and shrubs on fire behind the Zanjice beach on the Lustica peninsula at 2.10pm yesterday. After that the tourist went back to the beach. The fire spread to the forest soon.

According to CdM’s police source, he admitted setting the fire on the beach after several hour questioning.  Thus he committed the crime of causing general danger.

CdM learns that all the trouble spots on the coast, where there have been fires these days, are covered.

The police are working to find people who deliberately cause fires.
