Privileged producers of electricity receive €14 million

In the first nine months of this year, €14.27 million were paid to privileged producers in the name of incentives for the production of electricity from renewable sources, according to data from the Montenegrin electricity market operator (COTEE). They produced 290.9 million Kwh this year, and incentives were paid for 31 power plants owned by 20 companies.

From May 2014 to the end of September this year, €47.1 million was paid to privileged producers.

WIND FARMS

This year, the most money, € 6.86 million for the wind power plant (WPP) Krnovo was given to the company Krnovo Green Energy, which produced 134.2 million kWh in the first nine months. The executive director of this Niksic company is Mr Toni Karabatić, and the owners are Krnovo Holding and Masdar from Abu Dhabi. Since 2017, the company has received a total of €27.36 million in incentives. WPP Krnovo has an installed capacity of 72 megawatts and a planned annual production of 200 to 230 gigawatt hours, and it cost €120 million.

In the first nine months, the company Možura Wind Park Company, which manages the WPP Možura, received €4.46 million in incentives for 92.3 million kWh. It received the status of a privileged producer at the end of last year, the installed capacity was 46 megawatts and the annual production was 120 gigawatts, and it cost €90 million. Owners of the company are Enemalta and Malta Montenegro Wind Park, headquartered in Malta. The owners of Enemalta are the Maltese government and the Chinese company Shangay electric, which was the contractor for Mozura. The owners of Malta Montenegro Swind Power are International Renewable Energy Development (70%), offshore Vestigo Clean Energy (20%) and Envision Energy Internacional from Hong Kong (10 %).

Small hydro power plants

As far as owners of small hydro power plants are concerned, the biggest incentive of €855.957 for the first nine months was given to the Berane Company, Hidroenergija Montenegro, which has seven small hydro power plants (Jezerstica, Bistrica, Orah, Rmus, Spalevici, Sekular and Jelovica 2). The owners of the company are Mr Ranko Radović and Mr Oleg Obradović.

In the first nine months, the Podgorica-based company Kronor received €620,755 for Jara and Babino Polje hydro power plants . The owners are Mr Željko Mišković, Mr Predrag Bajović, Mr Mladen and Nikola Rabrenović. Igma energy from Andrijevica, owned by Mr Igor Mašović, received €233.734 for Bradavec and Pisevska Rijeka plants. The owner of this company is Igma Grand, owned by Mr Igor Mašović.

The Synergy Company received €115,774 for Vrelo. The owners are Mr Željko Đuranović, Mr Vuk Rajković, Ms Dragana Bošković, Mr Tomas Hajek, Mr Uroš Karadžić and Mr Radoje Vujadinović.

Together with Florina Krasniqi and the Czech company, Vodni zdroje, they are the founders of the company Hydro Bistrica, which received €301,948 for the Bistrica Majstorovina.

The company Nord energy, owned by Mr Vlastimir Golubović, was paid €122.963 for Šeremet potok, and Simes inženjering, whose founder is Mr Slaven Milić, received €52.185 for Ljevak.

The Small Hydro Power plant Mojanska was paid € 315.825 for three small hydropower plants Mojanska 1, Mojanska 2 and Mojanska 3, and the company Small Hydro Power Kutska was paid received €151.590 for small hydropower plants Kutska 1 and Kutska 2. The founders of Andrijevica companies are Mr Slobodan Popović, Mr Igor Mašović and Mr Željko Savović.

This year, the Podgorica company BB Hidro was paid €12.839 euros for the Lipovska Bistrica. This power plant produced the first kilowatt hours in May, and had no production in July and August. The owners of BB Hidro are Mr Blažo Đukanović and Mr Ivan Burzanović.

The Kolašin-based Power AB Group Company received €8.986 based on incentives for Bukovica small hydro power plant. The founder of that company is the Podgorica company Tehno plus, whose owner is Mr Dragan Andrijašević.

The Virdi Progressum Company from Kolašin received €3.214 for the Paljevinska plant.

The Danilovgrad-based company, Zeta Energy, also entered the incentive system with its “Slap Zeta” hydro power plant. This company received €1.518. In September, this power plant produced 55,200 kWh. This company recently received the status of a privileged electricity producer from RAE for this recently reconstructed plant. The status of a privileged producer is valid for 12 years. “Zeta Waterfall” was built in 1952, and since 2010 they have not been part of the Zeta Energy, which is a joint venture between Elektroprivreda and Norwegian NTE.

From the owners of five solar power plants, the Danilovgrad company Eco Solar System received €67.042 for the plant in Martinići, whose owner is Mr Božidar Jokić. Bar kod Company, owned by Mr Miomir Mrvaljević, charged €49,600 for the power plant in Donja Gorica, while Podgorica’s Invicta, owned by Mr Ilija Gazivoda and Mr Željko Vukčević, charged €32,362 for the plant in Bandići.

SOLAR POWER PLANTS

The Podgorica-based Alliance Company, which owns the solar power plant of the same name, has been receiving incentives since July, when production began at the plant, which is located on the roof of their business facility in Donja Gorica. So far, the company owned by Mr Ratko Pavićević has received €4.143.The value of the fee for stimulating the production of energy from renewable energy sources was last increased by almost 100 percent at the beginning of last year to 0.9439 cents per kWh. Since June last year, households have not paid incentives for the first 300 kWh consumed, but the Government has been doing so since the coal excise tax.

Football association pays €290

The solar power plant of the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG) also started production in August and entered the incentive system. This plant was installed on the administrative building of the FSCG in the Podgorica settlement of Stari aerodrom. FSCG was paid €290 on the basis of two months of production.
