Several thousand citizens gathered earlier tonight and held a 13-minute silence signifying the number of victims in the recent Cetinje killing in front of the Ministry of Interior. The protest was organized by a student organization ‘Kamo Śutra?’ (eng. Where To Tomorrow). After that, they marched to the parliament of Montenegro and addressed the public. The organisers of the protest said they were not serving the regime, urging the Prime Minister Milojko Spajic to declare on their request to fire Danilo Saranovic and Aleksa Becic.
“If the Prime Minister doesn’t declare until 1 February and if our requests are not met, we’re ready do demonstrate civil disobedience and students would be leading it,” they stated.
During the march, protesters were yelling “Murderers”, “We seek resignations”, “Can you see us, Danilo?”, “We won’t give up”…
“Our politicians have been making fools of us for decades, but they won’t be doing it anymore because we’ll show them that they can’t. We don’t want to live in a country where we don’t feel safe. We won’t stop until all our demands are met,” the students added.
As they said, this is just the beginning, “because whether they like it or not, the young can save the world”.
