Purchase price of tobacco goes up

The new Tobacco Combine will pay the tobacco to domestic producers at 15% higher price than it was last year, said the President of the Tobacco Manufacturer’s Association Podgorica, Hamdija Ljujković.

As he says, they will pay 2,25 EUR for the kilogram of the A class of tobacco whereas the price of B class will be 2 EUR.

He is very satisfied with the cooperation withe the New Tobacco Combine and he particularly points out the merits and efforts of the Director Savka Darmanović out in the increase of the purchase price.

Last year, the deadline for the payment of tobacco was 30 days. The deadline for this year hasn’t been determined yet but Ljujković believes it will be short.

The Recapitalization Agreement was signed in February of 2016 by the representatives of the Government and the Capital City with the investor, BMJ Industries from the United Arab Emirates. According to the agreement, the BMJ company is obliged to invest at least 20 million EUR in the plant.
