Radulović: Some people still support mayhem in MNE, the Balkans

Our European perspective depends greatly on our own actions and the international factors as well, claims the leader of the European Movement to Montenegro, Momčilo Radulović, when asked whether the outside interference, especially Russia’s, can slow down or halt Montenegro’s EU accession process.

“Any negative influence that comes from great countries such as Russia can cause serious consequences for functioning of a small Montenegro and its institutions. However, in current international circumstances, we are the ones who control the situation and the government must show a lot of wisdom and political skill in order to avoid obstacles,“ Mr Radulović told CdM.

On the EU accession process, he emphasized that it was not so important to precise the exact year of Montenegro’s membership if the country has been continuously implementing the reforms within the national plan. He made a point of being clear about the existing issues the European Union (EU) has been facing – they are pretty much serious and might endanger the core principles of the EU.

When asked if Montenegro really is good enough in the process of EU integration, he said: “we’re still not good enough, not for the EU but for ourselves.”
