Yesterday, Prime Minister, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, threatened educators with a reduction in salaries if they decide to strike in order to ask for what they think they have the right to.

<<< PM yelled and threatened with raised his finger, banged his fist on the lectern… <<<

Pretending to be strict, Mr Krivokapić, forgot about his own rights and obligations, and  infringed the basic rights and freedoms guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

What does Article 11 say:

Freedom of assembly and association

  1. Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and to freedom of association with others, including the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.
  2. No restrictions shall be placed on the exercise of these rights other than such as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

This Article shall not prevent the imposition of lawful restrictions on the exercise of these rights by members of the armed forces, of the police, or of the administration of the State.

The public reacted to the Prime Minister’s threats on social networks.

See the citizens posted on Twitter:

* This reflects the behavior of the new government – tyranny/inquisition from the “Greater Serbia world”.

* What can be concluded from the Prime Minister’s speech is that the reduction of salaries to the public administration is next, now only the “culprit” is being sought, regardless of whether it will be educators or Dara from Smokovac.

* Educators, please, do not irritate the Prime Minister! You will make him both smash the lectern and cut your salaries if you dare to strike. Shame on you!

* Whenever we anger the Prime Minister, it starts to rain. Let’s get serious, otherwise, we won’t be seeing the spring.

* You voted for him to blackmail you, you unfortunate slaves.

* So, you educators wrote petitions and attended the litanies. Now, shush, or your salaries are gone! You asked for it, you got it! Now watch!

* This is the Prime Minister of a country in Europe, well, we will accede to the EU in 2121.
