MPs of the Democratic Montenegro and members of the Committee on the Comprehensive Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation, Mr Momo Korpivica and Mr Danilo Šaranović, will go to the meeting of the representatives of the opposition, which is to be held on Monday upon the initiative of the leader of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Ms Draginja Vuksanović Stanković. According to Dan daily, the two of them will be attending the meeting on behalf of the Democrats and as members of the Electoral Reform Committee.
The media earlier reported that the SDP leader scheduled a meeting with the leaders of the Montenegrin opposition parties and representatives of the parliamentary groups who expressed readiness to engage in dialogue about ensuring fair and democratic elections. The SDP then told they invited the leaders of the Democratic Montenegro, Demos and URA Civic Movement (Mr Aleksa Bečić, Mr Miodrag Lekić and Mr Dritan Abazović), the president of the MP Group of Independent MPs, Mr Aleksandar Damjanović, and a member of the Parliamentary Committee in charge of electoral reform, Mr Neđeljko Rudović, to come to the meeting.
“The SDP hopes the meeting will be an opportunity for the leaders of the opposition parties and representatives of the MP Groups to exchange opinions on the current political situation and ways of cooperation, ahead of the expected dialogue,” the SDP said in a statement.
