Šćurić: Slots aren’t given so easily and are hard to get

“It is extremely strange that the management of ToMontenegro, only 3 months before the first flights, still doesn’t know which lines it will open, how many employees it will have, or even how many planes it will have in the fleet, and how long it will have an AOC (Air Operator Certificate). This isn’t optimistic at all”, says one of the largest regional experts in air traffic, Croatian aviation analyst Alen Šćuric, in an analysis published on the regional air portal ZAMAaero.

He recalls that ToMontenegro’s executive director Predrag Todorović said on Tuesday that the company was negotiating the purchase of a third plane which Montenegro Airlines used to have in its fleet.  However, he stresses, “Mr Todorović couldn’t say which lines ToMontenegro will open, which is extremely strange for a company that should open in 3 months and should already have tickets on sale”, Mr Šćurić explains.

He also brings to mind that Mr Todorović said that he wasn’t worried about the slots because airports would provide them.

“This is a very strange statement because slots at some airports aren’t given so easily, on the contrary, it is difficult to get them”, Mr Šćurić points out.
