See what Prince Charles’s walk in Kotor was like

On this occasion, he will meet Montenegrin officials. However, it will not be the first visit of Prince Charles to Montenegro, Radio Kotor reminded.

In October 1978, the British heir to the throne met with the President of Yugoslavia Tito in Igalo and visited the Old Town of Kotor.

Former TV Titograd’s correspondent from the Bay of Kotor, Dusan Davidovic, saved photographs of Prince Charles, who toured the major sights of Kotor accompanied by ambassador Sulejman Redzepagic from the Federal Secretariat for Foreign Affairs.

Davidovic remembers that the town was decorated with flags and that many residents of Kotor took to the streets to greet Prince Charles. As Davidovic said, the prince was visibly exhilarated and greeted people back.

The media thoroughly covered the prince’s visit to Kotor.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will arrive to Montenegro on 18 March and as previously reported by CdM, Montenegrins are already busy preparing gifts for them. One of the presents for the members of the royal family will be some oil from over 1,000 years old olive tree.

Prince Charles’s visit to Montenegro is not political but a friendly one. Apart from the officials Charles and Camilla will meet, the point of the visit is for the royal family to get to know Montenegro through people representing it in different ways.
