Serious Covid surge: MNE reports 8 deaths and 296 new infections

Eight people who had the coronavirus have died in Montenegro over the past 24 hours, four of whom were from Nikšić, one from Tuzi, one from Bijelo Polje, one from Pljevlja and one from Mojkovac. The deceased were treated in the Clinical Center of Montenegro, the Berane General Hospital and the Nikšić General Hospital.

In addition, labs of the Public Health Institute pulled 749 samples for PCR testing in the last 24 hours and detected 296 new cases. There are currently 3.448 active cases in Montenegro, i.e. 547 infections per 100K people.

“New cases are from Podgorica 82, Nikšić 79, Pljevlja 38, Berane 22, Herceg Novi 20, Bijelo Polje 11, Cetinje 10, Rožaje 9, Budva 8, Bar 7, Andrijevica 5, Plav 2, Kotor 1, Mojkovac 1 and Žabljak 1,” the Institute announced.

The total Covid-19 death toll from the start of the outbreak now stands at 146, i.e. 137 from early June.

Also, 119 people have recovered from the virus.
