Employees in the public sector who apply for the settlement agreement (formerly known as compromise agreement) will be entitled to severance pay ranging from €1.050 to €16.490, depending on the years of service and the job post they had, shows the severance pay table delivered yesterday to state and local institutions by the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the table, those who have been performing the most prominent functions will receive the highest severance pay. Persons who have worked for less than 6 years are not entitled to severance pay on the grounds of settlement agreement.
Senior officials, correspondent and individual correspondent can count on €1.050 – €1.329 of severance pay. Employees with higher education are entitled to €1.468 of severance, whereas those with college degrees (advisers, coordinators and chief of cabinet or chief in the Ministry) might receive €1.718 – €2.803 in severance pay.
Severance pays for the employees with high school degrees and 10 years of service amount to €1.779 up to €2.252. For the employees with higher education it amounts to €2.488, and those with university degrees are entitled to €2.913-€4.756. An officer who has worked in the public sector for 20 years performing some lower function is entitled to severance pay ranging from €3.768 to €7.781. Person with higher education who has performed cooperating function might receive €5.287 in severance pay, whereas those who have been on higher positions can count on €6.198-€10.147.
Officer who has been working for three decades with high school degree is entitled to severance pay ranging from €6.071 to €7.725. Advisers, coordinators and chiefs are provided with severance pays ranging from €10.040 to €16.490.
According to the survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Administration, around 2.000 employees in the public sector are interested in severance pay. Government is expected to cut the number of employees in public sector by the end of this year.
Application deadline – 30 August
Minister of Public Administration, Ms Suzana Pribilović, submitted at the end of July a public tender to all authorities and institutions at central and local level for settlement agreements which provide for severance payment. Deadline for the submission of applications is 30 August 2019.
