  1. Germany sends 336 positive tests; Institute for Public Health reports 273 new coronavirus cases

The Public Health Institute reports another seven Covid-19-related deaths. A total of 336 analyses that were sent to Germany came back positive while Institute reports 273 new infections.

Patients who passed away were from Bijelo Polje (2), Berane, Rožaje and Podgorica and were born in 1952 (2 patients), 1958, 1947 (2 patients), 1972 and 1940. Another 214 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. There are currently 4.484 active cases.

Mr Predrag Drago Ivanović who went viral on social media after yelling at the councilor, Mr Stevan Džaković, in Budva, is a new director of the Public Utility Enterprise in this city.

  1. Struggle over power in a new govt: Who will be in Krivokapić’s cabinet?

Talks on the armchairs [positions] in a new government that is supposed to be set up by the prime minister-designate, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, are ongoing. Many would like to enter the new govt, some are even declaring themselves as experts that Montenegro has never had before.

According to sources close to CdM, the new finance minister might be the MP, Mr Aleksandar Damjanović. The media earlier announced that Mr Ivan Radenović and Mr Milojko Spajić might take on this position as well.

  1. Footage triggers strong reactions: A young man was beaten in the town of Bijelo Polje

Video footage shows four young people brutally beating a young man in the town of Bijelo Polje which caused strong reactions of the public.

A prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office, Mr Slavenko Smolović, in that town has said they are well acquainted with the event.

  1. Montenegro reports 146 new Covid-19 cases, 3 more deaths and 199 recoveries

Another 146 cases of coronavirus were recorded in Montenegro today. Labs of the Public Health Institute have pulled 358 samples for PCR testing as of yesterday. The Institute as well as other labs that carry out the PCR testing detected 74 new infections, while a total of 182 analyses sent to Germany came back today, of which 72 were positive. A further three Covid-19 patients had died Saturday of the virus. The patients counted in today’s death toll were from Tivat, Bar and Rožaje. Meanwhile, 199 patients beat the virus. There are currently 4.428 active cases, i.e. 703 infections per 100K people.

  1. Departure of the most famous Montenegrin avenger

One of the most famous avengers from the former Yugoslavia, Mr Nikola Kaluđerović, 82, from Cetinje, passed away on October 10 this year. The news of his death reminded the elderly of Montenegro, as well as those from Greater Yugoslavia, of the tragedy of Nikola Kaludjerovic’s family, as well as the bravery, courage, pride, misfortune and evil fate that comes with the rugged Montenegro.

In August 1987, Mr Nikola Kaluđerović lost his son, Željko, who was only 23 years old and who was killed in front of the Charlie cafe in the town of Cetinje.

  1. Jevto Eraković resigns, CdM has learnt

Head of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, Mr Jevto Eraković, has resigned from that institution, the CdM portal has learnt. From now on, Mr Eraković will be performing tasks of the DPS MP in the Parliament of Montenegro.

  1. Podgorica unlikely to avoid tighter coronavirus restrictions, schools and kindergartens in five municipalities to close again

Head of the Public Health Institute, Mr Boban Mugoša, has stated that Podgorica is unlikely to avoid being put under additional restrictions for at least 15 days to stop the virus spreading, but still – they are waiting for the results from Germany. He reminds that the Public Health Institute informed earlier today the public that the epidemiological situation in Budva, Ulcinj, Cetinje, Kolašin and Žabljak got worse, which means that schools and kindergartens in those municipalities will be closed as of Monday. Teaching and learning will be online, based on the traffic light system introduced by the Ministry of Education.

Covid-19 infection rate in these municipalities is above 800 per 100K inhabitants, which means that they now belong to the “Group 3” – municipalities which will be put under tougher restrictions as of Monday for the next 14 days.

  1. Krivokapić: King Nikola’s view is the best

Commenting on the relations with Serbia, prime minister-designate, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, said that King Nikola’s view was the best, because he said that “there are two kings who live in two Serbian countries”.

“King Nikola’s view was the best. There’s a great connection in brotherhood and in sisterhood and in godfathership, that gives us hope that together we can find positive solutions, for the well-being of everyone”, Mr Krivokapić told TV PrvA.
