The first phase of the boulevard leading to Tuzi was completed today. Mayor of Podgorica, Mr Ivan Vuković, Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, President of the Municipal Assembly of Tuzi, Mr Fadilj Kajošaj, and director of Traffic Administration visited the finishing works today.
Mr Đukanović said that we “are marking the Independence day with this essential and symbolic project”.
“I would like to take this opportunity and express respect for tremendous efforts put in the infrastructure of Podgorica. This is one of the most important infrastructure projects and I am glad that the Capital city administration shows responsibility for the provision of high-quality infrastructure services”, president said.
He said that effort Tuzi local self-government put in to improve quality of life of residents was very important.
President pointed at substantial and symbolic importance of this project, pointing out that infrastructure projects “open doors for investors and new jobs”.
“There’s no more important objective for a country than forging clear path and providing foreseeable attainability of the European quality of life. It can’t happen overnight, but it is important that every local self-government doesn’t waste any time”, Mr Đukanović concluded.
Mayor Vuković reminded that in 2006 Montenegro “sent clear message that it wants to be part of modern civilization, dismissing inferiority complex, convinced that it can become successful state and one of the most beautiful places to live in this part of Europe.
“Every year after 2006 was a strong confirmation of the correctness of such commitment. Every 21 May was an opportunity to draw the line and reflect on everything we had achieved”, Mr Vuković pointed out.
According to him, construction of the new boulevard which will connect Podgorica and Danilovgrad is expected to begin in a month.
“This boulevard will be connected to the new boulevard in Gornja Gorica. The tender will be submitted soon. Plans are afoot for the reconstruction of the old road towards Danilovgrad in September. We expect tenders for the continuation of the construction of the Willie Brant Boulevard in Zlatica and construction of two boulevards in Stari aerodrom”, Mayor said.
Mayor Vuković expressed his gratitude to all partners in the project.
