Tax Administration to focus on mischiefing taxpayers

Inspectors of the Tax Administration (TA) will this summer season especially focus on those taxpayers who have previously demonstrated a low level of tax discipline, had multiple misdemeanors, or were punished with a temporary ban on performing commercial activities.

In cooperation with the Union of Employers (UPCG) and the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), TA officials yesterday organized a workshop for taxpayers from the Municipality of Budva, thus continuing their third “Tax Caravan” project, just in time for preparation for the forthcoming tourist season.

During their presentation of novelties in the tax legislation, the TA reported monitoring results for the last year’s summer season while participants were able to ask direct questions related to the interpretation of certain regulative provisions.

Director of the TA, Mr. Miomir M. Mugosa, said it is important to encourage voluntary compliance with tax obligations, through a proactive approach and open communication with taxpayers.

After similar presentations in Berane, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja and Budva, the workshops for commercial taxpayers will continue in Ulcinj and Bar over the next two weeks, and then in May in Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Niksic and Podgorica.

The Tax Caravan project is part of the PU Action Plan for closely monitoring the summer tourist season.
