Ten to Eight – Dritan and Ratko Knezevic, a Match Made in Heaven

Good morning! Superman Abazovic has time for everything. In the morning, he got things done with the Budva educators, had lunch with Spajic in Novi and then dinner with Ratko Knezevic in Dubrovnik.

Dritan and Ratko Knezevic, a match made in heaven

It is extremely rare for characters, worldviews, attention spans and ambitions to match, as is the case with the two men who walked along Stradun last night, accompanied by the police. I knew both of these people until the change of government in 2020, and now I think about how good it is that they have found each other.

Ratko is an entrepreneur, and he was never bad at what he does, but the service he trades is now more widely available and cheaper. Dritan has no money for that, and his sponsors believe less and less in any kind of ROI, because both Dritan’s and Ratko’s careers are on the wane. However, Ratko still stands a chance, because I think that Ratko could help Montenegro with his contacts and influence, if money and Montenegrin ego were not an obstacle.

What is risky in this partnership is Abazovic’s imminent loss of power and reputation through alleged communication with the criminal underworld, which we can read about on M portal. It is risky, because with Dritan’s loss of power, Ratko will immediately lose interest.

Then, for a while, they may only be guided by personal animosity towards Djukanovic, which Ratko almost eliminated before the 2020 elections, if only Djukanovic wanted it.

In brief, Medojevic can tell you a lot about it, and I have found out through my personal experience that many of the things Ratko says are not true and that he is a man with psychological problems.

It’s not that I don’t understand it. He collaborated with dangerous people, displeased some of them, and lost close friends. He has not been able to visit his homeland for a long time.

But I always believed and still believe that Knezevic is a patriot deep inside, and that somehow there is that Montenegrin in him that will not allow him to make a mistake towards Montenegro.

However, if he continues to support Abazovic, who works for Vucic, I will stop believing in Ratko’s patriotism.

Abazovic has lost his coalition capacity, he is unreliable and uncontrollable, he promises everything to everyone but delivers nothing to anyone. Except to the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC). That’s why now he can only take pictures with Ratko and Spajic, people outside of all power streams in Montenegro, but with the illusion of influence.

The smart Zeljko I. also sees that Dritan is in trouble, who btw shows more and more openly that he is the spokesman of AV who calls on Joanikije II to save Dritan, and take his “army” to the streets in the service of this rescue.

Zeljko’s text yesterday dreams of the Balkans led by Vucic, to whom he will be what he was to Djukanovic from 1997 until the referendum. In that Open Balkans, Zeljko would ease his nostalgia for the FRY, where he would be in Belgrade, and use Montenegro as a bathing place.

I’m only afraid that the “Montenegrin extremists” won’t let them do that. In these two years, a strong germ of resistance has been planted among Montenegrins, a germ of resistance that does not want us to be the province that Vucic, Abazovic and Porfirije see us as.

That’s why I advise Ratko Knezevic to leave Dritan and make another turn. At least it’s not difficult for him.

That’s it for today. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Kind regards,

Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM analyst
