Ten to Eight – Government reshuffle?

You are reading a daily contextual review of the news that marked the previous day.

By Ljubomir Filipović, CdM observer

My colleague Miraš Dušević has dealt with the increasingly frequent information that there could be a Government reshuffle that could be branded as an “expansion” of the Government. The appointment of several more deputy prime ministers from the ranks of other parties in order to create a political balance. We remind you that Mr Milan Knežević said a few days ago that he had rejected the offer of PM Zdravko Krivokapić to be one of the deputy prime ministers of the reshuffled Government. The entry of a couple of political figures into the Government would significantly reduce the authority of Mr Dritan Abazović, who is now the only political leader in the Government.

Situation with pandemic

Changes in measures and strategies to fight the coronavirus are announced. During the TVCG’s morning show, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Borko Bajić said that the total lockdown was the option advocated by the Public Health Institute and the Ministry, but that this decision couldn’t be made without the assessment of other relevant institutions, primarily the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance. On the other hand, the member of the Ministry of Education’s expert team Martin Ćalasan announced the possible opening of kindergartens and schools on Monday, 29 March.

At that time, Minister Jelena Borovinić Bojović, with a fairly large delegation, traveled to visit Serbia, where she will meet with Serbian PM Ana Brnabić, Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisić Tepavčević.

Politicians and political parties from the then opposition were prone to a strong critical attitude towards the former National Coordinating Body, while now they are quite silent. Take a look at this review of URA’s behavior while it was in opposition and compare it to the current silence.

VukšićLeaks, part 3

At the High State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, a case has been formed regarding newspaper articles related to revealing secret information at the session of the Parliamentary Security Committee, and the case is in the investigation phase, the Office told CdM. The head of the National Security Agency has already blamed everything on his employees, but let’s wait for the epilogue of the whole story. The former American diplomat Kurt Walker referred to the situation in Montenegro, and pointed out in an interview for the Voice of America that it was worrying if confidential information leaked in such a way.

Officials’ aggression towards green organizations

Representatives of KOD, Green Home, Dr. Martin Schneider-Jacoby Association, Center for Protection and Study of Birds of Montenegro (CZIP), Naša Akcija (Our Action) and Eko Korijen (Eco Root), who were invited to a meeting at the Ministry of Capital Investments on drilling the first exploration well in the south Adriatic left the meeting after the inappropriate and aggressive behavior of the Secretary of State Marko Perunović and the acting Director of the Agency for Hydrocarbons Marko Adžić, says the KOD organization. The Government immediately denied KOD, and then KOD’s assessments of the Government’s unprofessionalism and unwillingness for dialogue were joined by the Green Home NGO. A large number of green organizations and other NGOs signed a document yesterday condemning the Government’s behavior related to exploratory drilling in the Montenegrin offshore.

Incident in Bijelo Polje

Earlier yesterday, the State Prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Bijelo Polje submitted a motion to the Basic Court to order custody for Nermin Omerović (21) and Edin Dizdarević (18), but after the protest in Bijelo Polje, the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Bijelo Polje rejected Office’s proposal to extend their detention.

EXPO cancellation

The Government headed by PM Zdravko Krivokapić has decided to cancel Montenegro’s participation in the EXPO in Dubai. This is a scandalous political decision of the new Government, because Montenegro will most likely be the only country in the world that cancels its participation in the prestigious world event.Likewise, this could complicate relations with the UAE host country, which could interpret this as a humiliating move by our Government.

Reducing Tuzi

The Government’s provocations towards the residents of Malesia don’t stop even after the episode with the unjust blockade of this municipality, which caused the protests.

The mayor of Tuzi Nick Đeljošaj announced that during the daily work of the secretariat on the Geoportal, they noticed a change in the boundaries of the municipality. Mr Đeljošaj blames the prime minister and his deputy for this.

That’s it for today. See you tomorrow at the same place and at the same time.
