Ambassadors of the EU Member States met last night with Prime Minister, Milojko Spajic, and representatives of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to discuss the solution to the constitutional crisis in Montenegro, that is, the proposal to include the Venice Commission into solving it, the CdM portal has learned.

According to CdM, the DPS was against the proposal but announced they would discuss the matter with other colleagues from the opposition.

Their concrete position is expected today.

Montenegro has been going through the constitutional crisis following the decision of the Constitutional Board and the parliament to retire a judge of the Constitutional Court, Dragana Djuranovic, and the intention of the parliamentary majority to retire another two judges.

Since then, the opposition hasn’t allowed holding of the sessions of the Parliament of Montenegro, claiming the Constitution was violated.
