TIKA in Montenegro: 300 projects worth €20m implemented

Turkish International Development Agency – TIKA has implemented nearly 300 projects in Montenegro during last ten years. The projects worth about €20m have been executed in the fields of education, health care, agriculture, infrastructure improvement and employment support.

More than 40 projects have been implemented in the health care sector. The most important is adaptation and equipping of the emergency department of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG), as well as the adaptation of the KCCG’s Ophthalmology Clinic. In addition, TIKA supported numerous projects related to the inclusion of persons with disabilities and improving the quality of their lives.

“TIKA’s activities are aimed at improving conditions for Montenegrin citizens and expressing the closeness of Turkey and Montenegro,” said the agency director Ahmet Altun during a meeting with the president of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic.

The president thanked for the implemented projects and expressed his appreciation for TIKA’s willingness to continue its activities in Montenegro.
