ToMontenegro can hardly compete with Air Serbia

The biggest problem of Air Montenegro (ToMontenegro) is the fact that it’s in a far worse position than Montenegro Airlines used to be, aviation analyst Mr Alen Šćurić suggests in analysis published on the regional air portal ZAMAaero.

“Foreign companies have reacted to new market conditions. Air Serbia has increased the number of flights by 200 percent, Turkish by 100 percent, Austrian several times, as well as LOT, Ryanair and Wizz Air, and flights have been launched by Chair for Zurich and SAS for Copenhagen. I doubt the new company can compete with them,” he notes.

The new Montenegrin airline, he adds, will find it difficult to compete with Air Serbia, which will have 18 weekly flights on the Belgrade-Podgorica route in June (three flights per day, except for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when it’ll have two flights a day) and the “incredible” 24 weekly flights for Tivat (three flights a day, except for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays when it’ll be operating 4 flights a day).

In the analysis, he recalls the announcement that Air Montenegro will be operating its first flights from the main city, Podgorica, to Belgrade, Frankfurt and Ljubljana.
