  1. Police interrogated Novović: Montenegrin flag was not burned, witnesses confirm

Following the information that Mr Novo Novović from the town of Pljevlja posted a photo showing the state flag and the tricolor with four ‘fire striker’ shapes, the National Police stated earlier tonight that they undertook all needed actions and that the Montenegrin flag was not burned.

A Nikšić resident, Mr Branislav Brano Mićunović, 68, was apprehended on 6 January in the town of Budva.

On Badnji Dan, 6 January, at 3 pm, worshippers of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, sovereigntists and patriots, attended a public badnjak burning. Majority of them were waving the Montenegrin flag and were wearing other Montenegrin trademarks.

With a three-finger salute and singing the song “Srpkinja je mene majka rodila”, the President of the Municipality of Budva, Mr Marko Bato Carević, celebrated Badnji Dan (Christmas Eve).

Head of the Clinical Center, Ms Ljiljana Radulović, has continued to dismiss staff in that institution. According to CdM, Dr Ivan Đukić, head of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, quitted and is now replaced with Dr Vesna Čolaković Popović.

  1. Has URA condemned its president?

URA Civic Movement urged citizens to think critically about the statements and posts in the media and social networks, claiming that these are considerably spreading fake news. Even though they were not precise, one cannot help thinking that they had in mind, or at least should have had in mind, their president Mr Dritan Abazović,  who tweeted false news that Montenegro’s President, Mr Milo Đukanović, owes €2.4 million in tax, and this is still visible on Tweeter.

  1. Montenegro soon to be a country without ambassadors in missions

On 18 January, Montenegro will officially be the country with no ambassadors in its missions around the world. A precedent is set by Prime Minister, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, who urged all Montenegrin ambassadors to return to their homeland by this date, giving no further information regarding their possible return. Therefore, apart from seven ambassadors who are going to be recalled, others have to return as well, so that the Prime Minister may have talks with all of them and then decide who will return to the mission and who’ll have to stay home.
