Tourists from Western European countries return to Budva

Budva

According to data on the number of tourists visiting Budva Riviera in the first seven months of 2019, visitors from the Western European countries are returning to our country. Germans hold the third position for arrivals and overnight stays in Montenegro, while France, Great Britain and Sweden are among the top 10, the Montenegro Tourism Organization PR, Ms Darja Marović, told Dnevne Novine daily.

She added that Montenegro was the most visited country by the residents of Russia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belarus, just as was the case over the past years.

“It’s interesting that this year private accommodation is hosting guests from some less known, far destinations, such as South Africa, Papua New Guinea, Mauritius, Cambodia, Indonesia and Bahrein,” she noted.

According to official data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro, MONSTAT, on the number of tourists in hotels, hostels, resorts and other collective accommodation, and data that the Budva Tourism Organization gathered for private accommodation, around 300,000 tourists visited Budva in the first six months of this year, with over a million overnight stays.
