Urgent additional epidemiological measures in Vrela Ribnička settlement introduced

Institut za javno zdravlje

The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases convened an urgent consultative meeting today, and in line with the recommendations of the Public Health Institute, decided that competent bodies should impose urgent additional epidemiological measures in Vrela Ribnička settlement, Podgorica, now encompassing 23 buildings.

The decision on self-isolation of residents in residential buildings was made after a resident of that settlement was admitted to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, KCCG, for treatment last night, and having in mind that numerous direct and indirect contacts were previously made in this densely populated community.

“In parallel with the introduction of additional epidemiological measures, an urgent procurement of food and personal hygiene kits for the residents of this settlement will be launched,” the govt emphasized.

In making such a decision, they added, the positive effect of these measures in Tuzi and in the village Biokovac, Bijelo Polje, was taken into account.

All measures have been introduced to protect the health and lives of citizens in these local communities and beyond, and the achieved results so far confirm their full justification.
