Vukovic: It’s bad to look for solution outside Montenegro

Miodrag Vukovic

Commenting on the opposition’s decision not to negotiate with the ruling party without OSCE’s mediation, DPS MP Miodrag Vukovic told Pobjeda it was a new manipulation on the part of the opposition.

After the meeting of the “civic 5”, SNP leader Vladimir Jokovic stated those parties “would not negotiate directly with DPS without OSCE’s mediation”.

Vukovic said that the worst thing was that the opposition was looking for the solution to the current crisis outside Montenegro in a new manipulation that a mediator was needed.

“No one will accept their proposal since according to all assessments Montenegro is a mature political community which can solve all its internal issues by itself,” Vukovic said.

As he added, by such moves opposition demonstrates its ignorance. He said the opposition was uninformed about the role and competencies of the international organisations it wished to see as mediators and that it was out of touch with reality.

“They want to push international organisations to do what is not their democratic and institutional capacity and task. The OSCE can only offer good services to those who have sincere intentions to deal with open issues within democratic procedures,” said Vukovic.

He said that it was enough to “let the opposition talk about itself and see the absurdity of its position and even more pointless essence of its demands”.

“It is enough to read Democratic Front’s statement on other side of the opposition in Montenegro,” Vukovic added.

The DPS MP said that these structures were at odds with the Montenegrin reality. According to him, they are stuck in deadlock they cannot break.

“They ended up there by their own will. They want to oppose the Montenegrin reality, the opinion of the majority of Montenegrin citizens and the positive attitude of the international community,” said Vukovic.

He also sent a final message to the Montenegrin opposition.

“The door has been open since you left. Go back to the place where there are talks, negotiations and confrontations within a democratic dialogue,” said Vukovic.
