WG for electoral legislation reform soon to be established

Brajović

The working group for improving electoral legislation will be established, regardless of whether all the parliamentary parties will participate in it, said Ivan Brajović, Montenegrin parliament speaker, in an interview with Pobjeda daily.

Everybody wants to contribute to better electoral atmosphere, according to Brajović.

He said: “Our talks do not tackle those who do not want to participate in the work of a parliamentary body. Current position is that the MPs will have the right to vote, while the Association of Universities, relevant NGOs and other professional bodies will have the right to participate in the work of this body. I expect the remaining 9 MPs of the Democrats and URA Civic Association will recognize their interest and therefore participate in this process.”

Brajović also touched on the alleged govt’s decision to offer Montenegrin airports on concession, and adamantly said: “Based on our analyses, the offered concession acts have been illegal and imprecise when compared to the Law on Concessions, State Property Law, Labor Law, the Aviation Law, etc. I believe the Government of Montenegro will not consider such documents. Furthermore, the offer has been unfavorable and unsustainable in economic terms and might deliver damaging effects on the state interests.”
