Social partners are about to agree on the signing of a general collective agreement, which would determine work on Sundays for all workforce except for those who have to work continuously due to the nature of their job, Pobjeda daily has learned. This information has been confirmed by the President of the Montenegrin Employers Federation, Predrag Mitrovic.
Agreement about to be reached
“We have few small things to align. We’ve already agreed and hope to sign the agreement soon. Social dialogue among trade unions and employers has improved after a long time,” Mr Mitrovic said.
The work of trade companies might be defined by a general collective agreement in a way that employees who work on Sundays get higher salaries. According to Pobjeda, they’ve been negotiating over an increase in per diems by 70 to 80 per cent.
Trade unionists say that after signing the general collective agreement, social partners are going to start amending the Internal Trade Law having in mind that Article 35a of that law prohibits work on Sundays or they’re going to find a temporary solution until amendments are in place.
