Workers of MA to PM: We’ve been fasting for five months, but not for religious reasons

Representatives of Montenegro Airlines staff are indignant at the statement of the Prime Minister, who told the natonal airline had fallen into decay. According to them, his statement is scandalous, as the workers are still alive but haven’t received incomes for five months already, Dnevne Novine daily reports.

“The workers are alive, but majority of them have been fasting for five months, not for religious reasons but because of the negligent attitude of the Government of Montenegro,” the representative of Montenegro Airlines’ workers, Mr Miljan Perović, told Dnevne Novine daily.

MA employees are also dissatisfied with the statement of the Minister of Capital Investment, Mr Mladen Bojanić, who told they [workers] were going to get a ”social welfare”.

“We’re not looking for a handout, nor are we beggars. We are asking for five salaries they owe us, our work experience to be registered and a social program to be paid off. This all belongs to us according to laws of this country,” a representative of the workers, Mr Srđan Habić, said.

They also touch on announced vacancies in the company ToMontenegro, published on the website zaposli.me, noting that the Labor Law has been violated, as Article 24 of the Law clearly says that an employer shall report a vacancy to the Employment Agency, which hasn’t happened because there are no vacancies announced on the website of the agency.
